We want to contribute to a more sustainable world

We work continuously towards a more sustainable future. There are eight Sustainable Development Goals by the United Nations that seem most relevant to our business. Below you can read how we have contributed to these.

Let us tell you about our ways of promoting sustainability:

We are committed to the health and well-being of our staff. We believe that a motivated staff member who enjoys his or her work is the best employee an employer can have.

Our activities are based on our occupational security policies. We want to continuously improve our work environment, and we are committed to ensuring the safety and user friendliness of our facilities, machines and equipment. We also pay special attention to the layout, design and cleanliness of our workspaces and break rooms.

We provide our staff with a comprehensive occupational health care plan that focuses on their well-being, health and work capacity. We also have an extensive support system in place for any workplace accidents.

We encourage our staff to look after their personal well-being and health by providing them with exercise vouchers and other valuable benefits. In addition, we believe strongly in the importance of maintaining a healthy work–life balance.

We value the opinions and ideas of our staff. For example, our annual staff survey helps us understand what our staff members like in their work and places of work, what they need, and what types of ideas and wishes they may have.

We want to ensure the success of our staff members and help develop their professional competence and skills with, for example, extensive orientation sessions and task-specific training initiatives.

While our recruitment efforts focus primarily on experts with technical backgrounds, we also value multidisciplinary skillsets, and we wish to encourage our staff to expand their knowledge with, for example, apprenticeships, workplace learning initiatives, and internal and external training sessions.

We also provide internships and final project-related opportunities to all students of the field.

Equality is a vital issue for us, and we are committed to the promotion of equality in various ways:

  • We do not allow for any discrimination at the workplace

  • All of our open positions are available to both women and men, and we strive to support the career advancement of all of our employees

  • We promote non-discriminatory practices in our recruitment activities, work assignments, training opportunities, salary policies, and in the allocation of all work-related benefits and obligations

  • We want to help our staff balance their work and family lives

We are proud of the fact that our roster of experts includes many women, and it is our goal to promote the metal industry to all those who are interested in technology, regardless of their gender.

In line with our corporate environmental values, our energy procurement policies focus on the purchase of green energy and minimising our use of non-renewable resources. Our heating solutions utilise state-of-the-art heat recovery methods. Thanks to these efficient solutions, we require only a minimal amount of other forms of energy for our heating-related needs.
